Yoga improves self-esteem, increases one’s ability to regulate emotions, increases the ability to stay centred and calm, increases flexibility, strength and body awareness.
When children experience yoga at this age it will leave an impression on them, leading to a feeling of connection if yoga is an experience they have again in the future.
It’s just yoga- no reason to take it too seriously. Have fun and encourage your child to do the same!
Children love repetition. As we go through these classes I will be observing which poses are a good match for toddlers and I will be repeating these poses weekly. Toddlers will get a feeling of accomplishment as they begin to become familiar with these poses from class to class.
All children learn differently. If your child is a visual learner they may want to observe a few times before participating. They are still benefitting even if they are just watching.
